No.6 Four is your favourite was a surprise. I didn't have a plan for this work but I knew I had a held feeling.

What I thought would be more experimental compared to my other pieces ended up being one of the most emotional pieces I've worked on. After I finished this, I had a moment to step back and look at the comp, when it hit me like a ton of bricks.

It felt exactly like the relationship I had with my father before he passed. It has so much in it that I cannot say out loud in something as simple as words. I was surprised to see that it carries the whole spectrum of emotions I felt throughout our life together - including fun, which I'm happy to say I remembered more fully having completed this work and will explore much more of.

It reminded me that he used to call me Bubbles. It reminded me that I used to call him ‘Daddy Pops’. He used to say ‘Karlee Pops’ back to that nickname. I remembered four was his favourite number, after realising this was number six. After making this I feel like I'm really feeling the grief well - more wholly. I hope so much that it does the same for someone else.”
